Halloween skull card using crafty individuals stamps

Evening everyone!!

Trying to keep on top of my blog again - not sure how long it'll last though!

Made this skull themed card for my brother's birthday. We're all a little skull mad in my family so this skull stamp from Crafty Individuals was perfect for this card.

Stamp and emboss the gothic crow in black ink.
Create a mask by stamping the crow on mask it sheet and cut it out.
Place it over the stamped image.

Hold the circle stencil in place and ink the background.
Remove the stencil and lightly ink the moon area.

Build the colours on the background using wilted violet and picked raspberry.

Stamp the branches in black ink.

Stamp the barbed wire in black ink.

Remove the mask and colour with spectrum noir tri blend pens.
Add some highlights with a white sakura pen.

Stamp and emboss the skull stamp.
Create a mask and ink the background.
I wanted to add a pop of colour so added a little twisted citron.

Colour with spectrum noir tri blend pens and add some white highlights.

Dry emboss the skull and roses.
Place the image on a foam mat and draw around the skull and roses with a ball tool. Turn it over then do the same from behind. This should leave a lovely raised area.

I decided it needed some shading to ground the image so water coloured some chipped sapphire under the skull.

Stamp the crow twice and cut out. As you can see I snipped the legs off one image and the front wing off the other. This was intentional!!!

Colour the image and add some white highlights. Curl the top wing over a pen.
Stick the one without legs on the other one. Do not stick the wing.

Add some silver foiling around the edge of the skull and your background.

Using the new crafty individuals stencil draw some birds with a fine liner black pen.
Mount the skull topper and background onto black card, then on a pre folded 7x7 card blank.
Finally stick the crow in place using pinflair glue to give the wing a raised effect.

Thanks for joining me.

Happy Birthday Dragon card

Evening All!!

I've been meaning to post this card all week and haven't got round to it.
Made the for a member of the family's birthday who collects dragons.

Stamp and emboss the Dragon and Happy Birthday verse.

Apply the pebeo drawing gum over the dragon image. I prefer to use a rubber tipped brush to apply the solution as it seems to make all my brushes go hard, even if I try to clean them. You will need to work quickly though as the mixture is fast drying and the rubber tip will pull it back off if you don't work quick enough.

Sprinkle the pretty gets gritty powders onto your messy mat one colour at a time. Spritz with water and dab your card into the inky mixture. Dry with a heat gun.
Continue the same process with the other two colours.
Once your card is completely dry, remove the masking fluid with either your finger or a glue eraser. You will need to do this carefully.

I painted the dragon with a watery mixture of the pretty gets gritty Atlas and Venus powders to give a nice shimmery affect. Add some darker blue tones using chipped sapphire distress ink - dab the ink on a tile and apply with a watery paint brush.

Randomly stamp the splattered script in the background with wilted violet.

Mix a small amount of transparent get crackled with atlas pretty gets gritty powder.
Using a palette knife apply the mixture through the stencil and leave to dry.

Once completely dry water down some unicorn pretty gets gritty powder and lightly drip over the crackled scales to darken.

Finally create a mount using black card and mount onto a 7x7 card blank.

New crafty individuals stamps - nature or nurture

Hi Everyone!!!

So I seem to have neglected my blog - again!!!!
Snce my last post Crafty Individuals have launched yet another spectacular range of rubber stamps. They're a definite must have collection and will definitely be my most used stamps.
The new collection of stamps can be found below.
CI-587CI-586 - These stamps has been designed by design team member Dora.
CI-585CI-584CI-583 and CI-207 which is an older set that has been revamped.

As well as these lovely stamps they also launched a set of stencils which are perfect for building scenes and some incredible Background papers that were designed by Jean and Malcom in the darkroom. Now I'm not someone that's very precious over background papers, but I have to confess I nearly cried cutting into these ones. They're so pretty and are calling out to be framed!

Anyway enough of me rambling on. Here are some of the samples I made for the shows.

Thanks for visiting.

Don't forget to post pictures of all your lovely makes using any of the crafty individuals stamps on our Facebook page - we would love to see them.
