Hi Everyone!!!
So it's been a while since my last post. I've been really busy working on orders. I've also been working on some other projects, which I will share with you all very soon.
So today I finished this quick card that I made for my lovely mum. Tomorrow will actually be my birthday, but in our family we have always given mum a card and a little gift as a sort of thank you. After all I think birthdays are just as special for the parents. I know on my sons birthday I re-live every moment of him being born. Anyway I'll quickly show you how I made this one.
I must apologise as I started making this and forgot to take pictures from the beginning.
I cut a piece of card approx 8x10cm using my Tim Holtz deckle edge trimmer.
Stamp and emboss the girl on the swing (impression obsession E13307).
Create a sky themed background using Tim Holtz distress inks. I lightly applied scattered straw all over and then built up the colours, masking an area for the sun. Then flick some rays of ink around the mask to highlight the sun.
Darken the edge with versafine clair twilight ink pad.
Stamp the tree from crafty individuals CI-361 around the edge at the top. This is probably my most used CI stamp. Its perfect for creating scenic toppers.
For the next step I inked just the grasses of CI-495 and stamped it a few times along the bottom of the image.
Using the Hunkudory moonstone words - Die cut 'special' and 'Mum' in black card.
Stamp and emboss the words 'thank you for being you'. I got this set free from a magazine. I'm afraid I can't remember what issue though - sorry!
Cut a mount for the die wording using the deckle edge trimmer.
trim the edge of the stamped wording - again using the deckle edge trimmer.
Cut a piece of card to fit a 5x7 pre folded card blank leaving a small border around the edge.
Lightly ink the background to match the main topper.
Then lightly ink the smaller pieces of card.
Stamp the crafty individuals tree and grasses around the edge in Versafine Clair Twilight.
Add some silver foiling to the main topper and wording with a quickie glue pen.
Cut a mount from black card using the deckle edge cutter.
Stick your main background onto the pre-folded 5x7 card blank. Then stick the topper and wording in place.
I decided it looked a little bare so stamped some little birds from CI-209.
Thank you for visiting!
